Beginning at 6:30a PST, Writable's application database failed to automatically scale to accomodate increased usage and became overwhelmed. Our engineers were monitoring and noted increasing error rates and began investigating. User reports of issues began at 6:35a PST. Additional resources were added as a stopgap, which resolved the issue by 6:53a PST, error rates increased again at 7:14a PST and additional resources were deployed to combat it. During this period, the underlying cause was identified and a fix was deployed at 7:30a PST, after which all metrics remained normal.
